- SRAD: Student Researched and Designed — components built in-house, not bought commercially
- COTS: Commercial Off-The-Shelf — commercial components, opposite of SRAD
- SAC: Spaceport America Cup — annual intercollegiate rocketry competition in New Mexico, USA
- Mach 2.05: supersonic speed, ~2.05 times the speed of sound (~2,500 km/h at altitude)
- Apogee: the highest point reached by a rocket on its flight trajectory
